Last year I was tagged to respond to list after list asking me to share bits of personal information with friends, acquaintances and total strangers. The questions on this list are just as revealing inasmuch as they point to a depth of character. Haven’t we all heard the saying that “if it doesn’t kill you, it’ll make you stronger”? I hope that you not only say “yes” to all ten items, but that you also take a moment or two to think about the situations and how you reacted to them. They’re not the “nicest” of experiences, but they do balance out the bucket lists.

When’s the last time you:

1. Got caught in the rain and cussed because of it
2. Just missed the bus, tram or train and were late to an appointment
3. Were relocated and felt deeply homesick
4. Received a ding letter
5. Cried
6. Broke something because you were so mad
7. Had an identity crisis
8. Experienced racial (sex, age) discrimination
9. Missed your favorite television show
10. Faced one of your prejudices

Feel welcome to copy and paste this list and forward it. Better yet, make up your own!

    1. Got caught in the rain and cussed because of it
Yesterday morning when I came downstairs in my satin dress, cycled one block and a downpour erupted on me…

    2. Just missed the bus, tram or train and were late to an appointment
At my last doctor’s appointment bwecause I didn’t cycle. Lesson learned, always cycle.

    3. Were relocated and felt deeply homesick
    April 26, 2007

    4. Received a ding letter
    Not sure what this is

    5. Cried
Yesterday - one year anniversary of my father’s death.

    6. Broke something because you were so mad
I think that might be when I suspected Michael was cheating on me and I broke all the beer bottles in his house and poured them on his suits.

    7. Had an identity crisis
That would be continously since March 2008

    8. Experienced racial (sex, age) discrimination
Not sure - I’m pretty sure sex discrimination goes on with me all the time but I’ve stopped noticing it. This might be a bad sign.

    9. Missed your favorite television show
Yesteray - I was crying and forgot to change the channel and missed “HOw I met your mother!”

    10. Faced one of your prejudices
    hmmmmm…. not sure.

    Hi Sarah,
Thanks for this. Loved # 6. One time I was so mad, probably at hubby, I consciously looked around the living room for something to break. In the absence of anything better, I picked up one of the rocks Chloe was collecting and threw it at the floor with all the might that my anger could fuel. I didn’t count on it ricocheting off the floor and smashing into the one of the glass panes on the door to the living room. To this day, Chloe will tell visitors that “Mama broke that glass with a rock.” Thanks again, Sarah.
